Tasha Tudor - First Poems of Childhood

Posted by PicasaHere is a book of poetry with beautiful artwork by Tasha Tudor.  She lived from 1915-2008 and illustrated almost 100 books.  I especially love the poem 'Baby' by George MacDonald here - so beautiful!  Do you have any favourite books of poetry that you read with your kids?

  1. Aww, this one is so beautiful! When the girls were younger, our go-to book of poetry was the Eloise Wilkin- illustrated Poems to Read to the Very Young. We also have a boxed set of board books illustrated by Jane Dyer called Animal Crackers. It had a mix of poems, songs, and nursery rhymes. We have others, too, but those were our favorites.

  3. Tasha Tudor's illustrations are heartwarming. I actually have book she signed, given to one of my kids, around 1974. I'll have to dig it up.

As for favorite poetry - the list is long! But my kids LOVED a book of poems called "Everybody Has Two Eyes". I'm going to dig that one up, too, and tell you more about it. It was really special.
